Arrival of the Louis in Shanghai is an editorial by Aisy Min, a Barcelona-based creative director, created entirely with generative AI. It imagines Louis Vuitton’s monumental vessel docking in Shanghai, and asks a simple question: what happens when a symbol of French heritage arrives in a city that never stops reinventing itself?
The story unfolds in seven images, from the ship docking among the towers to the figure who, in the end, turns his back on it.
A ship in the middle of the city
Set against the extraordinary backdrop of Shanghai, the editorial reimagines the arrival of the vessel as a cinematic encounter between two worlds. More than a destination, Shanghai becomes a character of its own: a city where tradition and futurism coexist, where East meets West, and where the line between reality and spectacle keeps dissolving.

A new kind of luxury figure
At the centre of the narrative stands a single figure, generated with AI, embodying a new generation of Chinese individuality. His presence and unconventional identity challenge traditional notions of luxury, turning the journey into a visual statement on modern masculinity, cultural change and self-expression.

The vessel as a metaphor
The vessel becomes a moving monument to heritage, craftsmanship and exploration. Its arrival is not simply the crossing of a border, but a collision of histories, aesthetics and contemporary identities.

Monument and figure
Through constructed compositions, cinematic perspectives and a precise visual language, the editorial works on the tension between monumental architecture and the human figure, between established luxury codes and the irreverence of a new creative generation.

Belonging
Arrival of the Louis in Shanghai is, in the end, a story about movement, transformation and belonging.
Because true luxury does not simply arrive somewhere. It becomes part of the story.
